MY STORY

Hi, I’m Alix,

The Founder Of AP LEADS.

Growing up, I was always passionate about problem-solving and helping others achieve their goals - my journey began as a troubled teenager with no direction.

I always knew I had a fire inside of me, but I felt helpless, lost, and like an outsider.

This feeling deepened when I got my first job as a website design apprentice.

At the time, I was earning a dehumanising

£2.68 an hour - £20 a day.

At 16, I created a website design for a company in Walsall, UK, which they later coded and sold for over £60,000.

Seeing my work generate that kind of profit while I was paid peanuts broke my heart. It shattered my confidence in the working world.

At 17, I found myself unemployed and aimless once again.

I knew I needed to build a life that aligned with my values and passions, combining freedom and purpose.

After thousands of pounds spent on courses, and many hours educating and reading - I turned back to my roots in website design, SEO, and digital marketing.

I founded AP LEADS not just as a business but as a MISSION.

I wanted to empower small businesses to grow without the stress and confusion often associated with digital marketing.

I understood their challenges because I’d lived through them myself.

Hi, I’m Alix Pardoe,

the founder of AP LEADS.

Growing up, I was always passionate about problem-solving and helping others achieve their goals - my journey began as a troubled teenager with no direction.

I always knew I had a fire inside of me, but I felt helpless, lost, and like an outsider.

This feeling deepened when I got my first job as a website design apprentice.

Afterward, I attended college to study Website Design and Computer Systems, hoping it would help me achieve my goals of building websites for small businesses. However, the course content felt beneath me - They were teaching me terms I already knew like "what does Wi-fi mean" and "what is e-commerce."

While the college was underwhelming, I completed the two-year coursework in just three months and passed the course with flying colours.

At 17, I found myself unemployed and aimless once again.

Desperate for money, I applied for jobs online and eventually landed one at a pallet yard in West Bromwich. This was my highest-paying job to date - £5.49 per hour - but it came at a cost.

My work involved off-loading pallets from trailers, sorting them into types, and cleaning up debris in all weather conditions. It was backbreaking labor, and I endured daily abuse from truck drivers.

One day, I vividly remember I had a nail go through my hand while unloading a trailer. Bloodied and in pain, I kept working under the pressure of a truck driver shouting at me to hurry up. That day, something in me changed.

The fire I thought was extinguished reignited - I decided I’d prove I was capable of much more.

I earned my HGV license and became a truck driver, quickly increasing my wages to £13 an hour.

For a while, it felt like success. I worked up to 60 hours a week, doing deliveries for frozen food, prisons, and later, craving more I did my ADR License and started transporting hazardous materials which complimented my wage even further - I was earning more than my friends.

Financially, I was thriving, but emotionally, I was crumbling.

The long hours, isolation, fear of my safety and lack of fulfilment led to severe depression.

During this time, I tried my hand at numerous business ventures. I was determined to create an income outside of the monotony of truck driving.

I tried drop shipping, eBay, buying and reselling, and even importing games from India to sell to businesses. Each attempt came with its own set of challenges and failures.

I was young and naive, often underestimating the complexity of running a successful business.

My biggest success came with Amazon FBA - After months of research and hard work, I managed to generate £6,000 in a single month. It felt like I was finally on the path to freedom.

But just as I gained momentum, Amazon began undercutting my products by 35%, alienating my profits and leaving me with little to show for my efforts.

This experience was a harsh lesson in the realities of business, but it also fuelled my determination to find something sustainable.

I dreamt of freedom but felt trapped.

My relationship at the time added to the stress. My girlfriend wanted to settle down and buy a house in England, but the idea of being tied to a mortgage and a job I hated terrified me.

It was then I decided to break free. We were on completely different frequencies so I built the courage to end the relationship with her.

I booked a flight to Thailand to reconnect with my inner child and the beast within me, to do Muay Thai and scuba diving - two activities that had always brought me joy.

For a few weeks, I felt truly alive. But with no sustainable income, I had to return to England.

Thus began a cycle: I’d save money driving trucks, escape to South East Asia to find happiness, and come back to the UK to start all over again. This repeated four times.

On the fourth trip, I decided to take it further and completed my PADI Divemaster course on Koh Tao.

Becoming a professional scuba diver was a life-changing experience. It taught me patience, adaptability, and how to work with people from all walks of life. But when I returned to England again, the depression hit harder than ever.

I fell back into old habits, seeking ways to numb my thoughts.

I realised I couldn’t keep living this way.

Something had to change.

That’s when I made the boldest decision of my life: I booked a one-way flight to Thailand.

This wasn’t just an escape; it was a commitment to living life on my own terms. I knew I needed to build a life that aligned with my values and passions, combining freedom and purpose.
